What is a miracle? *

A small and shining thing,
A granted wish,
the love of God,
A soul in heaven, free.

What is a miracle?
Is it the seed of faith?
The whispering of angels,
in gentle summer rain?

And how should I know
It's a miracle I see?
Will it be an answered prayer,
Or simply what I need?

Will it be the rain,
on a long hot day?
The smile on a child's face?
A simple act of God's grace,
Or his spirit next to me?
